Other Upgrades to Consider

For all of these models, there are several other upgrades/replacements you should consider while doing your conversion:

• Polyurethane Steering Rack Bushing Set- The original Jaguar steering rack mounts were made of rubber, a terrible design that gave very poor steering response and feel. Our polyurethane steering rack bushing set is easiest to install with the engine out, and gives crisp steering  response,  totally solving the problem.  

• Front Subframe Mount Set- The front subframe on these models carries the suspension, steering, and engine mounts, and is mounted to the body with 4 special mounts; 2 round units in front and 2 V-style in the rear. These are rarely changed on these cars, so we also recommend replacing them now. Once the engine is out, it's an easy job. And since a V8 conversion is a moderate to big power increase to the car, you want to be sure they are in top shape.

• Front Sway Bar Upgrade-Now that your car will have better straight line performance, you can also easily improve its turning/cornering manners as well. With the engine out, the (relatively small) stock front sway bar is easy to replace with our 1" Front Sway Bar Upgrade. With this upgrade, the car will handle flatter and feel more controlled in the turns. This is especially true for the sedans which typically only have a 3/4" front sway bar originally. This is an easy swap when engine is out, so seriously consider it.
